2013 Kissing The Canvas Knockout of the Year
Most of these awards have a few contenders but knockout of the year was a fairly easy one to pick. If you only know one thing about Jason Bergman it's that he can hit hard.
So it should be a surprise to no one that his knockout of John L. Smith is taking home the Kissing The Canvas Knockout of the Year honors. It was a shocking and devastating finish to a fight that was supposed to be a challenge for Bergman.
Smith came into the fight with an undefeated record of 13-0-1 and looked like the kind of fighter that could give Bergman trouble. He is big and slick and those kind of fighters can trouble Bergman.
Bergman never gave Smith the chance to be slick as he jumped on him early and knocked him down and then out in just 1:59. Bergman picked up the NABA US heavyweight title.
There isn't much more to be said about the knockout except what the video above and relive the 2013 Kissing The Canvas Knockout of the Year with great commentary from Jim Frazier and Allen Levine.
