Andres Taylor vs Fight Guillermo Jones For The WBA Cruiserweight Title Postponed to Nov. 24.
Andres Taylor was supposed to be fighting for the WBA cruiserweight title tomorrow, October 27, 2012, in Caracas, Venezuela against Guillermo Jones. That won't be happening but the title fight is still on.
The Tribune-Democrat is reporting that Jones informed the camp of Taylor that he injured his hand in traning and won't be able to fight until the end of next month.
This gives Taylor (21-2-2 8 KO) another four weeks to train. “I was bummed out but one of my trainers said, ‘This is great. You have four more weeks of training. You’ll watch more tape and prepare,’” Taylor said.
Taylor also noted that he has fought through injuries but when you are the champ that it is different. “When you’re the champion you have those perks,” Taylor said, noting he has previously fought after injuries he sustained during sparring sessions. “It’s fine. Whenever we fight, I’ll have those perks (after a title win).”
