Daniel "The Mountain" Martz will step into the ring for the second time this year against undefeated Alexis Santos in Boston. The NABF junior heavyweight title will be up for grabs, the title is currently vacant. The 6'7 1/2" Martz (10-1 7 KO) is being brought in as the opponent but has faced the better fighters in his career. The only loss in his career was a split decision to an undefeated fighter.
Santos (13-0 11 KO) will be giving up 7 1/2" in height and will need to find a way inside on The Mountain if he wants to make this a fight. This will be a big step up for Santos and it is rare to see two young guns like this go at it early in their careers. Santos, 24-years-old, and Martz, 23-years-old, should be applauded for making this fight happen. Santos usually has a edge in power but that may not be the case when he meets Martz and it may not matter if he can't get inside.
This should be a good fight no matter what happens and it's nice to see Martz get some exposure on television. Tune in to FS1 this Thursday to watch Martz do his thing against the undefeated Alexis Santos.
