Adopted Pittsburgher Morgan Fitch will return to his actual hometown to face off against tough veteran Skyler Thompson. This will be the first fight for Fitch since his draw against Darnell Boone, a fight I personally scored for Boone. Fitch showed tremendous heart by not only getting off of the canvas twice to not only survive but fight back.
Fitch (11-0-1 5 KO) will be looking to bounce back against the tough Thompson (12-11 10 KO) who may not have a pretty record but can punch and withstand a punch. Thompson has lost his last four but has gone the distance all but one of those fights. Fitch is also taking a risk facing the hard puncher as his last fight saw him hit the canvas.
It will be interesting to see how Fitch reacts when he eats his first hard punch. Fitch is the favorite in the fight, and rightly so, because of his superior boxing skill and smooth operating. This is the first step to getting Fitch back on track and hopefully he will be back fighting in The Burgh sooner rather than later.
