RingTV is reporting that Paul Spadafora could still sign with Golden Boy despite his loss last month to Johan Perez in a WBA title fight. Spadafora looked good in the loss and is still 48-1-1 (19 KO).

Matchmaker Robert Diaz was at ringside during the fight and thinks that Spadafora still has enough left in the tank to be a primetime player.

"He had a very good fight with Johan Perez for the WBA interim lightweight title, because he showed that he still is at top level, yes, we will be working out a deal for future fights. He was cut, so we can look for a [Fox Sports 1 appearance] around March."

A return to television would be a very big step for the former titleholder. There have been some issues getting him back on television and having a power promoter behind him would make it much easier.

Although he took a loss in his last outing he still has talent and his defense will test anyone that steps into the ring with him. It's not a crazy idea to envision him in more big fights with a title on the line.
