ROY JONES JR. PRESENTS “RIVERS RUMBLE 4” FEATURING “THE PITTSBURGH KID”
World-Class Professional Boxing Returns to Rivers Casino on the North Shore
PITTSBURGH June 25, 2014 Two true warriors are set to collide in the main event on Friday, July 11 in the Rivers Casino Amphitheater. Former IBF World Champion, Paul “The Pittsburgh Kid” Spadafora, will go toe-to-toe with Three-Time World Title Challenger, Hector Velazquez in “Rivers Rumble 4.” Presented by eight-time world champion Roy Jones Jr. in association with TNT Promotions, the event will feature a night of professional boxing by the river with a full card of action-packed bouts.
Pittsburgh’s own Spadafora is coming off a disputed majority decision loss for the WBA Interim World Title vs. Champion Johan Perez. In this match, Spadafora is on a quest for one final title run.
“Pittsburgh—this is your one opportunity to witness one of the best prize fighters ever from the Steel City, and first World Champion since the original Pittsburgh Kid Billy Conn, in 1941,” said future Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr. “Believe me, you won’t find a more picturesque venue in this country than Rivers Casino!”
Also included on the fight card for Rivers Rumble 4 is Youngstown, Ohio’s favorite son Jake “The Bull” Giuriceo, Wheeling, WV’s exciting prospect Ronell Green, Puerto Rican crowd pleaser Antonio “Carita” Nieves and more.
“This event is a favorite among guests, and we look forward to bringing boxing back to Pittsburgh,” said Craig Clark, General Manager of Rivers Casino. “The exceptional fighters on the card and Rivers’ outdoor amphitheater make this an event that is not to be missed.”
Rivers Casino will hold a weigh-in party with all the boxers on Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m. in the Wheelhouse Bar and Grill (must be to 21 to attend).
