Tonight, 10-12-12, at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Bunola, Pennsylvania fighter Rod Salka looks to take another step towards a world title. The 29-year-old Salka (16-1-1 3 KO) takes on Dorin Spivey for the vacant NABA lightweight title.

Salka is riding a four fight win streak into this fight and is fighting for the third time in 2012. In his last fight he beat Joseph Laryea by SD-8 at the Green Tree Sports Complex. The 39-year-old Spivey is riding a six fight win streak and fighting for the second time in 2012.

Spivey (41-6 30 KO 1 no contest) has a considerable advantage in expierence as this will be his 49th professional fight and appears to have a advantage in punching power. The three knockout wins are deceiving though as Salka will sit down on his punches and has some pop.

They have common opponents in Victor Vasquez and Angel Rios. They both won decisons against Rios while Spivey knocked out Vasquez and Salka beat him by decision. Salka beat Vasquez early in his career and Spivey knocked him out in his last fight.

Salka will have a once inch height advantage coming into the fight. I can't really say how I think this fight will play out because I haven't seen Spivey fight. He has a experience advantage but it would appear that Salka will be able to use his slick boxing to out fight the harder hitting Spivey.

If you couldn't make the drive the card can be bought at www.gfl.tv for $9.99. I will have live coverage of the fight.
