When "Lightning" Rod Salka steps into the ring for his next fight, it will be the biggest opportunity of his career. The WBC and WBA champion Danny Garcia will be across the ring on August 9. The fight will take place on August 9 at The Barclays in Brooklyn and will be a Showtime main event.

This will be the first title shot for Salka (19-3 3 KO) who is coming off his biggest win over previously undefeated Alexi Collado. Garcia is coming off of a controversial decision win over Mauricio Herrera in Puerto Rico. These two have some history as they fought in the amateurs with Garcia coming out as the winner but not before surviving a rough spot. Salka says he rocked Garcia badly and felt that he should of got the decision.

He now has a chance to reverse the decision with the titles on the line. Salka is an interesting choice of opponent for Garcia because he just struggled mighty with Herrera and Salka has a similar style. He also struggles to make the weight so that could be a factor.

Most people are writing this off as a gimme win for Garcia but I wouldn't be do sure. Salka upset the apple cart in his last fight and should of got a win over Ricardo Alvarez. Salka is running hot while Garcia didn't look so good last time out.
