This past Saturday (April 7 2012) local fighter and promoter Rod Salka pulled double duty by promoting a card in his hometown of Elizabeth, PA. and winning in the main event. This was the second time that Salka (15-1 3 KO) promoted a card and fought in the main event.

Salka started out quickly and used his slick boxing and superior speed to hand Angel Rios (9-11) a loss. Salka dominated the fight for the first three rounds by using combinations and circling but ran into some trouble in the fourth when he ate a right uppercut from Rios.

Salka, who was never down before, rose at the count of 8 and finished the round strongly. Salka never stepped off the pedal after that and easily won the fight on scores of 78-73 and 77-74.

As far as his promoting ability I would say this is one of the better cards I have been to in the area in a long time. He has solid fights from top to bottom and the house was packed with about 1,100 or more fans.

There was also very little down time between fights and overall the card was fast. It was a nice night of boxing and if you are a Pittsburgh boxing fan you need to check out the next Team Salka card.
