Sammy Vasquez will return to the ring, and Pittsburgh, on August 7, 2014 when he battles fellow undefeated fighter James "Keep'em Sleepin" Stevenson at The Consol Energy Center. The fight will be the main event of the night and will be broadcast on FS1 or CBS.

Stevenson is 21-0 with 14 wins coming inside the distance. He has knocked out his last three opponents but this will be a big step up for the undefeated Stevenson as he has only faced three fighters that have had winning records and that includes a fighter that was 1-0.

Vasquez (15-0 11 KO) has his own knockout streak going as he has stopped his last six opponents all within five rounds. This will be the third straight fight that Vasquez is featured on television and his first television main event. With the power both of these men posses the fight may not last long but it should be entertaining while it lasts as Vasquez always looks to put on a show for the local fans.

Stevenson may have more wins and knockouts but he should be the underdog coming in and shouldn't upset the hype train that has become Sammy Vasquez. Vasquez is gaining steam in the boxing community and another impressive win would force his name into bigger fights. Mike Tyson has done wonders for the career of Vasquez and believes in him and is pushing him hard.

Vasquez isn't long for smaller fights like this and you are going to want to be at The Consol Energy Center on August 7 so you can say that you saw Vasquez before he was a titleholder.
