UPDATE: You know the saying it almost seems to good to be true. Well that applies to the Vasquez-Michael Moore fight. Moore has pulled out of the fight and this is the second time that Vasquez has had to deal with a fighter pulling out on short notice.

Ayi Bruce did it to Vasquez last time and this is the second time Vasquez has attempted to step up only to see his opponent pull out. Vasquez will now fight 10-2-2 (6 KO) Jamar Freeman.

Freeman is 1-2 in his last three fights but both losses were to good fighters and the last loss was on scores of 77-75, 77-75, and 78-74. Although he is a downgrade he isn't a bum who is coming to lose.

Sammy Vasquez puts his undefeated record on the line February 1 in Elizabeth against fellow undefeated fighter Michael Moore. The fight will take place at Court Time Sports Complex.

This will be the first fight in 2014, after going 5-0 in 2013, for Vasquez and the most important fight in his career. It will be the first time he steps into the ring with a fellow undefeated. Both fighters are 27-years-old and looking to take a jump in the rankings.

Moore (13-0 6 KO) is the higher ranked fighter at 33rd in the nation while Vasquez comes in at 39th. A win for either fighter would put them on the championship path.

Vasquez (11-0  7 KO) is taking a risk that most fighters avoid, fighting another undefeated fighter before a title is on the line. A win would move him up in the rankings but a loss would set him back.

Vasquez should be the favorite going into the fight and it will be a special fight for him as it is the first fight his daughter will be at. Vasquez is always ready to fight but now he will have that extra little motivation when the going gets tough.
