It's been about a month since I last talked to anyone from the World Class Boxing gym but that doesn't mean they haven't been busy.

The month got off to a disappointing start when cruiserweight hopeful Andres Taylor took a fight on short notice and lost to journeyman Harvey Jolly. Taylor (21-4-2 8 KO) was coming off of a hard fought loss against top curiserweight Rakhim Chakhkiev.

Although he took the fight on short notice he was expected to beat Jolly (14-9-1 7 KO) but beat Taylor on a controversial decision. Taylor told The Tribune Democrat that Jolly that he lost, "Even he was surprised, He came over and said, ‘I thought you won.’ He said that with his own mouth. He told me that he’d take the win though and I said, ‘I know you will."

Taylor said that two of the judges were new to boxing and didn't appreciate his power shots. He also was in Poland training and got back to the United States just days before the fight.

Taylor may still have a shot at the WBU African cruiserweight title. He was scheduled to fight for that belt on March 30.

The month turned around when Ed Latimore and Joey Holt won on the same night. Holt (2-0 2 KO) smashed Roy Sanders with a overhand right that caused Sanders mouthpiece to fly into the crowd.

Latimore (1-0 1 KO) wouldn't be outdone and brutally knocked out Jon Hill in round three. He also ended matters with an overhand right. Latimore had some rough moments in the bout and worked hard for the win.

He took a hard left hand from Hill (4-2 3 KO) that had him hurt but he pulled through to get the big win.

Yankello starts his year out at 2-1 and will surely be improving upon that mark as the year moves on. Good luck to Tommy and all of his fighters this year.
