The heavyweight division is finally heating up after what seems like a 10 year period of nothing very exciting happening.

As of right now elder Klitschko (Vitali) is scheduled to fight undefeated former Olympic Gold medalist Odlanier Solis.

Solis is one of the more recent Cuban defectors and one that most experts had high hopes for. He has delivered somewhat but frequently fights way over his optimal weight.

He is a short fighter at 6’1” ½ but is an actual threat to defeat the much larger Klitschko. He has beaten a name fighter in all 17 of his wins and beat Ray Austin out last time out in his career best win.

He has the boxing skills to give Klitschko problems and certainly has the experience as he went 227-14 in his amateur career never losing a major tournament.

The big question is will Solis come in at a good weight or will he show up at 260 or 270. If he does then winning will become a big task.

If he shows up in shape and lets his hands go don’t be shocked if he pulls out the win. Vitali is getting older and is getting hit more often which could actually be a problem against a skilled heavyweight like Solis.

If both brothers successfully defend their titles then one will fight former light heavyweight and cruiserweight titlist Tomasz Adamek.

Wladimir should easily get through Dereck Chisora so I favor him to get the fight with Adamek. This is an interesting fight because Adamek is a great fighter but can he compete with The Brothers K?

He is 5-0 at heavyweight but hasn’t looked as good as he did at the lighter weights. He breezed through a washed up Andrew Golota and club fighter Vinny Maddalone.

He struggled with Jason Estrada, Chris Arreola, and an old Michael Grant. The size and power of Grant seemed to get to Adamek and he will have to deal with that with either Klitschko.

If nothing else Adamek will show up in shape and ready to mix it up for 12 rounds. Adamek is one of my favorite fighters but I don’t see him pulling the upset.

He is just to small and doesn’t bring the speed or power to the table to really give either Klitschko a run for their money.

With these fights already signed the heavyweight division is already more interesting than it was all of last year.

I would also venture a guess that a David Haye fight will happen since it appears the Klitschko’s are trying to clean out the division. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
